Normandy Sketchbook

Having just returned from time in Normandy I wanted to share some sketchbook pages from the trip. The farming landscape is dotted with farmhouses, barns and working buildings that provided plenty of drawing fodder and inspiration.

My drawing books provide a place to quickly and loosely record points of interest, shapes of buildings and colours of the landscape.

Since getting back I have made a series of simple watercolour paintings of buildings, some remembered, some imagined, and am planning a series of acrylic paintings that reflect the colours and shapes of the Normandy countryside in the summer.
